An Eventful Weekend

So, I've been wanting to do something different with my hair for a long time now. I cut a couple of inches off a couple of weeks ago but that didn't entirely satisfy me. So, I decided to color it. Actually, I had my mom do it. I've colored it lots of different shades of browns and blondes before and this was definitely the darkest I've dyed it. It was a little shocking at first, but I actually really like it and I'm having fun with it! It may be just a tad bit dark for my complexion, but it's fun. I think my mom was worried when we first put the color on because it was soooooo dark. I think I'll keep my slightly new look for a while...

Sunday night at our house ended up being pretty interesting. About 8:30pm, Lance was on the couch watching something on TV and I was in and out of the bedroom collecting laundry to finish when I happened to walk by our front window. This first picture is what I saw...a huge hole in the hedge! I was a bit confused at first because normally, you wouldn't be able to see Lance's car parked on the street and when I looked out, the side of his car is clearly visible. If you look straight ahead, you can see what I'm talking about. The second picture shows a closer view. Lance and I went outside to try and find out what happened when our neighbor from across the street came by. It turns out that a couple of people from around the corner got into a fight and began to run down the street when one of them pushed the other one through our hedge. It turns out that Lance and I missed this fight by just a few minutes. This has definitely been the strangest thing that has happened to us since we moved to this house (aside from our patio umbrella suddenly missing from outside...funny thing with that is that the base is still here). The police ended up coming by and we told them what we knew, although Lance and I didn't know much. We did find a wrench and a screwdriver at the base of the hedge where it fell down, so we gave that to the policeman. We're not sure if it belonged to either of the men but we know for sure that it wasn't our tools. It was an interesting way to end our Sunday!

On Saturday afternoon, Lance and I headed to his sister's house to visit with her, her husband and our two nephews. It was so great to see them and catch up! I can't believe how big the boys are getting. It had been way too long since we had seen them. It was a nice visit and I hope that we can get together again very soon.

Lance and I also caught a movie this weekend. We went and saw "Live Free or Die Hard." We ended up liking it quite a bit. It was exactly what I thought it would be and was definitely entertaining. We went today to see "Transformers." I'm not quite sure what to say about the movie other than it was...ok. I didn't hate it, but I was pretty far from liking it. I have fond memories of playing with Transformers when I was little, but I wasn't crazy with the film. Lance liked it more than I did, but even he won't say that it was a good movie.

I hope you all had a great weekend and a happy and safe 4th of July!
