One of the best things about my job is all the time off you get. I have done so much over the last two weeks...it's crazy! I wrote about my first week off in my last blog. Over this last week, I have celebrated Father's Day, my sister's birthday, visited with my sister-in-law and my two adorable nephews, went to a movie, went to the outlet stores, went to a doctor appointment, went bowling and tomorrow I will be heading up to Calistoga with my best friend, Laura. Whew! I'm not sure that I've ever booked myself like this before. I'm enjoying every minute of it, though.
I know I'm probably a total nerd by talking about this, but I absolutely love bowling. Every Tuesday when I get home, I'm just happy. I'm having a blast! The people there are so nice and everyone is so supportive and encouraging. Some people there are pretty hardcore and then there are people like me who are there just to have a good time. I'm so happy to have chosen this "new experience" this year.
Summer school starts on Monday. As much as I could moan and groan about how I have to go back to work, I'm actually looking forward to it. I miss the students. I'm sure I'll be ready for that month long break when it's over, though. I really can't complain, though. How many other people only have to work 10 months out of the year?
Lance has been busy this week. He is taking a professional development course to bump him up on the pay scale. He's taking an art class that allows him to be creative and learn some art history, which is right up his alley. He seems to really be enjoying the class.
We are considering taking a road trip this summer. We don't get to go out of town very often, so we thought it would be fun. I keep going back and forth about it because of the gas prices. Airline prices are so high right now, so flying somewhere doesn't seem to be an option, either. I probably need to just stop thinking about it and just do it. More on our little adventure when we've figured out the details...
