New blog...New beginning

Hello everyone! I've decided to start a new blog for Lance and I that will give everyone an idea of what is happening in our lives. I started a blog on another site a few years ago, but I like the layouts better on this site.

We can't believe that it's June already! That means that we're both winding down the school year. I finished my 7th year with my district last Tuesday and Lance will finish up his 6th year on Thursday. Lance has decided to take the summer off from teaching, meaning that he will have until the end of August to relax and take care of some things around the house. I will be starting a full-time position at the preschool on June 18. I have been working at this preschool since last October and I really like it there. I have to admit that I'm a bit nervous about being a "teacher" since that was never really an aspiration of mine, but I am looking forward to the challenge. It's much different from special ed in a lot of ways. Luckily, I have a very supportive director and coworkers there. I'm very lucky.

There is no new news on the adoption front. We completed everything in April and we're now just waiting for the phone call from our social worker. It may take a while for a match since we specified some things. In any case, we're as ready as we're going to be. The room is set and we will be thrilled when that phone rings and we hear Susan's (our social worker) voice. Exciting stuff!

Yesterday, Lance and I went and saw one of the most amazing movies we have ever seen. I really hope that some of you can go see it. It's called "Once" and it's an independent movie about a couple of musicians who find each other and strike a very close friendship. There isn't one minute wasted in this film and the songs are amazing. It is not in wide release, so you may have to really look for it, but PLEASE go see it if you can. It was unbelievably fantastic.

That's it for my first post! More later...
